About
Daniela Galea (b. 2003) is a visual artist whose practice is rooted in methodical yet intuitive experimentation with geometric abstraction and the formal elements of art. Through digital media, painting, drawing, collage, and mixed media in combination with a process-led and material-driven practice, she explores how these components interact and unify within each of her compositions primarily through colour, line and shapes.
She was born and raised near different rural parts of Malta where she prefers to reside near nature and tranquillity. For the past seven years, Galea has been studying art at the MCAST Institute for the Creative Arts where her practice originally followed representational themes of nature through traditional painting and close-up flora and fauna photography.
Currently, she is completing a B.A. (Hons) in Fine Arts at this Institute, where her more recent works have continued to move away from the figurative and the representational and focus more on themes of abstraction and visual aesthetic.
